Dear ~~NAME~~,

   Interview with Legend this month is about Michael Green.  I wrote a follow up email to Michael's based on the interview he wrote to us from last year.  I wanted to know if he has fulfilled his goal now that a year is up.  Following is his candid message about his goal and how  much he has accomplished this past year.

    This interview isn't new and I apology for this delay-ness.  I was having a personal quest to achieve 7 figures income from the Internet. Although the road is now seem imminent for this success, along the way I've lost so many friends and have made many bad choices.  But I'll live with them and as the new year comes approaching I made my resolution to not to live in the past and to forgive myself for any wrong doings.

    I also would like to make one personal statement to you my dear readers -- the road to success is not about reading an ebook or even to follow the success of others.  You will not and cannot duplicate that success to yourself -- although you might in some degree but only in a short term interval.

    Personal success that resulted from your inner vision takes sweats, tears and perseverance to see it becoming a reality and believe this -- your end destination may not anything like you've imagined.

    For a million year I would not have thought of my business will take this turn -- but if it wasn't for the initial failures I would not have embarked upon it.

    So embrace your failures, embrace who you are and stop blaming yourself for not making it because you will-  I GUARANTEED you will PROVIDE you don't give up.

Bulk email lists - are they valuable and should you buy them?

Dear Readers:

From time to time I received in my email box unsolicited advertisements from some very well known marketers.  I must admit at one time I actually click on an order box and order 3 products from Marcus Allen.  I am sure you've heard of this name.  I am sure he has achieved tremendous success with this method because I kept receiving his advertisement every 3 months. 

Marcus Allen the legendary real estate tycoon who took 3 unknown people from an unemployment line and taught them how to buy-sell real estate.  The result of this experiment was nothing short of miracles.

Any how this year I thought I would experiment the bulk email list and results as of this writing is so unspectacular that it's embarrassing.

First of all the list was not clean -- there are addresses that belong to 'honeypots' email addresses. What this mean is that when you send to such an in box you'll automatically get slewed of email sending back to you using your own email sources to other people.  And if you have your own dedicate server like I do, you are in such a mess that it could take few months to clear thing up.

Secondly you'll end up on some black list servers -- and for the next few years you will need to do something to straighten yourself out like I have to do for myself.

Now, the way that I email these people are not spam at all ... I provide real address and real phone number and I always include an unsubscription link with each email.  Also my emails are very authentic and the content are GREAT. Or at least they are worthy to send to the best of people on my other lists.

The list that I purchased was from very trustworthy source and if it includes the date and time and IP addresses when these people signed up for more information.  Well to my utter surprises, some of these people have no idea why they received my email, in addition, I did not clean them until much later -- gosh I was in such a nightmare for few weeks after using it.

So here is my advice to you -- If you want to experiment with such a list -- you must perform following steps first before use 

- clean it with email cleaning software - I wrote one for myself out of neccessisty and I only sell it for $10.00. Email me at webmaster at kim-thomas.com to purchase it since I did not make a website to sell it yet.  This action will weed out 'obvious' bad email addresses.

- Some emails still  bounce (even after you clean it) dues to numerous other reasons.  In this case, you should check them against your mailing database so you don't keep sending emails to ghost addresses.  This action takes a lot of work -- I use ExtremeEditor software which is another piece of software that I wrote (again out of neccessity) to turn the swipe mode to on and start clicking on each bounced email to auto-copy-save the email addresses.  I am not sure if you don't have such a software how much time it will take you to copy all of the bounced emails from your list.

Some of the autoresponder's providers will do this for you nicely by only allowing you to start your list by sending your emails and ask for second subscription - This way although cumbersome but really will work in your best interests.

Some of the autoresponders will also mark each bounced email for you so you can go through and delete them all after each mailing.

So ... again it's not A GOOD IDEA TO USE YOUR OWN DEDICATE SERVER to do these things .... especially if the list was dirty.  

But then again why bother to pay for dedicate server and still pay for monthly autoresponder service from someone else.

So all and all -- the list has not made any money for me YET -- and it costs me money and time and so please learn from my experience -- and if you still decide to go this route, take xtra cautions and/or just hire someone else to spam.  I DON'T LIKE SPAM and please don't do it -- it's not really worth it - I only provide my thought and options for you on this issue.

I was only interesting in bulding a list for this very specific industry and so in a long run this one list may make me money and that is what I am trying to experiment -- The issues I sent to this list contain so many valuable information about everything that sometimes I am wondering if they understand what they're getting ...

Well for 10 weeks now I only get 146 unsubscribers ... I guess I must have done something right at least.  

FYI, I purchased 10,000 names and I received 15,000 names from the list provider.  After 10 weeks the list shrinks to 10,341 names plus other new signs up from my website. Well that's not bad I guess.
